Support & Impact

The Canadian Centre for Rural and Agricultural Health (CCRAH) advances health, safety, and wellbeing across rural and agricultural communities through research, education, innovation, and long-standing partnerships. Thanks to the generous support of our funders and donors, this work reaches farther each year.

With your support, our programs now serve over 24,000 farm families and 205 rural municipalities, and collaborate with partners in every corner of the province. This past year alone, CCRAH researchers led and supported dozens of projects, produced impactful knowledge translation tools, delivered training and outreach to thousands of workers and families, and contributed evidence that shapes rural and agricultural health policy at provincial, national, and international levels.

Your investment helps us in supporting safer workplaces, healthier communities, and innovative solutions that directly improve lives.

The Bilokreli Family Trust honours Helen and Eunice Bilokreli, the only girls in a family of nine with farm roots near Theodore, Saskatchewan. Both women supported research and scholarships for rural and agricultural health with financial contributions. The trust supports the CCRAH based Rural Dementia Action Research (RaDAR) team’s work to improve delivery of rural dementia care.

The strong relationship between CCRAH and the Saskatchewan farming community is exemplified by the Elkow family fund, established in 2012 by the estate of Helen Elkow. From the will of Ms Helen Elkow, it stated that “after the death of both of my brothers, namely Peter and Philip, I direct my Executor to sell my farm land, for the best price available ... and donate the balance of the money in my Estate to the Centre for Agricultural Medicine for research in the name of the Elkow family – Helen, Peter and Philip.”

Anonymous and personal donors play an essential role in helping CCRAH reach it mission to support rural and agricultural people in Saskatchewan and across Canada. These generous contributions directly empower our research programs, outreach initiatives, and specialized health care services, ensuring we can address the unique challenges faced by people living and working in rural and agricultural spaces. Every donation helps us advance safety, health, and well-being where it matters most.

Through annual membership contributions, Saskatchewan’s Rural Municipalities help CCRAH provide trusted farm health and safety education and services to more than 27,000 farm families province-wide.
