Canadian Senate releases report calling for National Dementia Strategy.
Members of the Standing Senate Committee on Social Affairs, Science and Technology made 29 recommendations to improve the quality of dementia care and research in Canada in an extensive report released November 2016, called Dementia in Canada: A National Strategy for Dementia-Friendly Communities.
By RaDAR WebsiteIn April of 2016 RaDAR team member Dr. Andrew Kirk, Neurologist, was invited to give evidence to the Standing Senate Committee on Social Affairs, Science and Technology. The committee was studying the issue of dementia in Canadian Society, and Dr. Kirk shared information with the committee about the kinds of research activities undertaken by the RaDAR team, and challenges faced by Canadians with dementia living in rural and remote areas of the country.
