Funding Opportunities Available - SHRF 2022-2023 Solutions Program
You may have expressed interest in past funding from SHRF related to the focus areas in this year’s competition. Please see below for details regarding new SHRF funding opportunities and circulate this information to any relevant colleagues within your team or network.
Program Overview:
The purpose of the Solutions Program is to support collaborative and engaged research for the development and implementation of innovations to address timely Saskatchewan health needs and create a sustainable impact in a focused area. Teams must include two (2) Saskatchewan-based researchers from different disciplines and (1) Saskatchewan-based knowledge user applicant.
Focus Area:
Alzheimer’s Disease and Other Dementias
Offered in partnership with Alzheimer Society of Saskatchewan
To be eligible for partnered funding, applications must address funding research into finding treatments, causes and cures, and improving the quality of life for people living with dementia or one of the following are interest areas identified by the ASOS Board:
- Diagnosis
- Prevention/Risk Reduction
- Culturally Sensitive Care
- Long Term Care
- Palliative Care
- Social Inclusion
Applications must pass relevancy check by Alzheimer Society at eligibility to continue to full application.

Funding Opportunities:
Innovation Grant: Up to $50,000 for 1 year
Support interdisciplinary and transdisciplinary teams including knowledge-users to catalyze innovative new ideas and approaches, promoting creative problem solving to address one of the focus areas named in this year’s competition.
Impact Grant: Up to $150,000 for 2 years
Support interdisciplinary and transdisciplinary teams including knowledge-users to advance the translation of research into real world settings and practical applications to address one of the focus areas named in this year’s competition.

Eligibility Check Cut-off: September 29, 2022 – 4:30 p.m. CST
Application Deadline: November 17 – 4:30 p.m. CST
Funding Start: March 1, 2023
