Background

Edna Parrott is a retired registered nurse and has worked in rural Saskatchewan for many years including being involved in nurse management for 19 years, ending her career as director of Home Care for the Sunrise Health Region. She was awarded the Queen’s Golden Jubilee Medal for her work in Palliative Care. Edna has worked professionally and personally through the struggles of individuals and caregivers coping with dementia in rural Saskatchewan. She has advocated for strong connections to those dealing with dementia through the Rural and Remote memory clinic, and personally made use of this service as she cared for her husband who suffered with Alzheimer's Disease. He passed away December 2013. She served on the Alzhemier Society of Saskatchewan as a board member for 2 years.
