The 3 Minute Postdoc (3MP) Competition was hosted in Louis Loft on October 3 by the College of Graduate and Postdoctoral Studies (CGPS).
The 3MP is a university-wide friendly competition where competitors have 1 static slide and 3 minutes to explain the breadth and significance of their postdoctoral research to a non-specialist audience. The goal of this event is to give presenters a chance to gain communication experience via public speaking and showcase their research to a broad and diverse audience. This event is modeled after the UBC 3-Minute Postdoc Slam and the Graduate Students’ Association Three Minute Thesis event, with a few adjustments. Three Minute Thesis originated at the University of Queensland in 2008.
There is a real challenge in explaining a complex project briefly and in plain language. Congratulations on meeting this challenge with excellence!
