Re-Imagining Rural and Remote Physiotherapy in Saskatchewan

This interactive knowledge translation event was held on Jan 29, 2020 in Saskatoon, SK. This event brought together over 50 stakeholders representing diverse perspectives (clinicians, managers, community members, researchers and policy makers) to discuss community needs, access barriers, and potential solutions to improve access to physiotherapy services in rural and remote Saskatchewan communities. The morning session include panel presentations and discussion related to:

  • Rural and Remote Community Perspectives
  • Recruitment and Retention Initiatives
  • Innovative Use of Technology and Teams

The afternoon session was a World Café interactive small group discussion on topics including:

Recruitment and retention

  • Student training and experience
  • Leveraging technology
  • Engaging teams and communities
  • Thinking ‘outside of the box’
