SASKATCHEWAN FARM INJURY COHORT STUDY

The Saskatchewan Farm Injury Project is an ongoing study funded by the Canadian Institutes of Health Research (2005-10) that will provide new information about the causes and consequences of injuries on Saskatchewan Farms.

This study has involved recruitment of 5,502 people on 2,422 farms.  These farms are being followed over a 2-year time period.  Characteristics of the farms and people on these farms are being related to their subsequent injury experience.

The study is headed by Dr. William Pickett of Queen’s University and Dr. Jim Dosman of the University of Saskatchewan.
