Walking Tour to the Rayner Dairy Research and Teaching Facility at the University of Saskatchewan

9:00 am – 12:15 pm
Fee: Free of charge

This three-hour tour offers a scenic stroll from the Delta Bessborough Hotel along picturesque Spadina Crescent, across the historic University Bridge and the U of S campus, and through the Rayner Dairy Research and Teaching Facility on campus. The Rayner Facility is part of the College of Agriculture and Bioresources, which plays a leadership role in education and research for ensuring a healthful and sustainable global food supply. Home to over 100 lactating cows, the Rayner Dairy Research and Teaching Facility also comprises teaching and demonstration areas, research and development wings, visitor-accessible overhead barn walkways, and interpretive exhibits. The title of the exhibits reflects the overarching theme: Feeding the World. The tour concludes with a guided walk back to the hotel at perhaps a more leisurely pace.

Note: Tour will take place if weather permits. The round-trip distance is approximately 6 kilometres, so dress for autumn weather, wear comfortable running or walking shoes, and perhaps bring along a water bottle.
The maximum number of participants is 40.

Once at the riverboat launch behind the Mendel Art Gallery, it’s all aboard the Prairie Lily for a delicious Sunday brunch - all while enjoying a relaxing Sunday afternoon cruise taking in the wonderful land of living skies. The tour concludes with a walk back to the hotel along the ever-popular Meewasin Valley Trail.
Note: Tour will take place if weather permits. Dress for autumn weather and wear comfortable running or walking shoes.
The minimum number of participants is 40.

Welcome to Wanuskewin, a historic site that promotes sensitivity and knowledge of the Northern Plains cultures. The tour concludes with a short bus ride back to the hotel.
Note:
Tour will take place rain or shine. Dress for autumn weather and wear comfortable running or walking shoes. Please note that we can accept cash only for this tour.
